S corporations and partnerships

One team for the business return and the personal one.

Most business owners have two preparers who never talk, or one who treats the 1040 as an afterthought. We prepare the entity return, the K-1s, and the owners’ personal returns as one engagement, so nothing falls through the gap between them.

Who it is for

  • S corporation owners who want reasonable compensation handled thoughtfully, not guessed
  • Partnerships and multi-member LLCs that need clean K-1s on time
  • Owners whose books are in QuickBooks Online and who want the return to tie to them

What you get

  • Form 1120S or 1065 plus every owner’s 1040 and state return
  • A books-to-tax workpaper that proves the return ties to your ledger
  • At Ascent and above: reasonable compensation analysis, IRS and state power of attorney, and planning sessions
  • Secure portal, e-signature, and a compliance calendar for entity deadlines

How it works

01

Books first

We review the year-end ledger before touching the return. If the books need cleanup, we say so and quote it.

02

Entity return

Prepare the 1120S or 1065, tie every line to the books, and issue K-1s.

03

Owner returns

Carry the K-1s into each owner’s 1040 and coordinate estimated payments for the coming year.

04

Plan

A planning session at Ascent and above to set salary, distributions, and retirement contributions for the year ahead.

Pricing

Business memberships start around $250 a month, personal returns included, and vary with complexity. See the Business Tax tab on the pricing page.

Common questions

Should I make the S election?

It is a calculation, not a rule of thumb. It depends on profit, the salary the role reasonably commands, state costs, and how the QBI deduction treats your income. We run the numbers for your business before recommending anything.

My books are a mess. Can you still file?

We can, but we would rather fix the books first so the return is right. Cleanup is scoped and quoted separately, and it often pays for itself in a cleaner return.

Do you file for C corporations or nonprofits?

Not as a core service. We will point you to someone who does that work every day.
